Modular CCA-Frisbee

The students had an experience playing Frisbee for their modular CCA in Term 1. It was a good chance for them to practise their hand-eye co-ordination. They also learned about teamwork during the game.

Chicken Rice

Modified Language Experience Approach (MLEA)

In MLEA, there is a shared experience that is linked to the Big Book that has been read during Shared Reading. The shared experience provides the context and content for the children to think and talk about, using the target language structures and vocabulary they have been exposed to in Shared Book Approach.

The students read the big Book "Chicken Rice". For the MLEA experience, the students were asked to identify different local food through the sense of smell.

The shared experience provides the context and content for the children to think and talk about, using the target language structures and vocabulary they have been exposed to in Shared Book Approach .

With the help of the teacher who transcribes the children's input, the pupils come up with a piece of class writing. This becomes the basis for group writing, when the children work in small groups, before they go on to individual writing.

The whole process is scaffolded for success and pupils also learn about cooperative learning as they work together in mixed-ability groups.

CNY Decoration

Thank you parents for your support & contributions in the recent Chinese New Year classroom decoration. Our class won the "Most Creative Classroom Decoration" Award!

The students were very happy & proud as their efforts in decorating the classroom paid off. It was also a good time of bonding as they put their hands together to decorate the classroom to welcome the year of the Tiger .

Modular CCA - ICT

Change in Modular CCA Schedule

Dear parents & students,

There will be no P2 Modular CCA next Fri, 12 Feb, due to the Chinese New Year Celebrations. Hence, the P2 Modular CCA will end a week later than scheduled, i.e. on the 26 Feb 2010.

Pls take note.

Mathematics Game

Kids learn best in a play environment. It is safe & allows them to take risk.

Here the students have a chance to play a simple Addition and Subtraction board game. The students get to practise their addition & subtraction skills while aiming to be the first to reach the "destination" .

These game sets were put together lovingly by a group of parent volunteers. It is a joy to see the 7 year olds so engrossed in their play.
